It’s a big day here at Magic Kingdom! Everyone’s favorite mouse, Mickey, is turning 91. Now that’s an accomplishment! Let’s go see what’s happening around the park to celebrate the mouse who started it all.

Crowds were backed up at the Transportation and Ticket Center’s security checkpoint. It was a solid 20 minute wait to get through.

We’re just on the struggle bus this morning… The monorail to Magic Kingdom was closed, so our transportation options were limited to the bus or ferry.

We opted for the bus.

BB-8 ensured our safe travel to the Magic Kingdom.

As we entered the park, we were handed pins to celebrate Mickey’s birthday!

We paid a visit to Mickey  to wish him a happy birthday in person. We thought it would be rude not to. Mickey was dressed in his birthday best! He told us that he’s starting to feel his age, but we reassured him that he’s still looking good.

Over in Tomorrowland, more pieces of the 1994 Tomorrowland accents have been removed, with the work area now expanding to the left of the land’s main entrance.

Here you can see the process of removing the accents. The one on the left has been covered in gray scrim. The center one has been stripped to its steel base and left exposed. The right one still has all of the 1994 Tomorrowland accents attached.

An area of the Tomorrowland walkway was stanchioned off for concrete repairs.

A special dance party to celebrate Mickey’s birthday was happening in Tomorrowland.

Other small gestures were taken throughout the park to commemorate Mickey’s big day. Mickey sippers were available outside of their normal quick service locations. We spotted this sign at Storybook Treats.

We spied more Mickey sippers at Sunshine Tree Terrace.

At Casey’s Corner, Celebration Mickey Brownies were also resurrected for the occasion.

In Star Traders, we found a new t-shirt design.

The Hanes tee features a vintage Mickey in front of Cinderella’s Castle. It’s $24.99.

We also found these fun dress shirts that pay homage to the late Skyway attraction and Space Mountain. These shirts retail for $59.99.

Work continues on TRON. More pieces of the inner track appeared to be wrapped in a white covering and blue tarp now hangs on the backside of the show building.

A few workers were present onsite.

A tractor was actively moving dirt as we were watching.

It was quite a busy day at Magic Kingdom with higher crowd levels that last week. The wait for “It’s a Small World” was between 45 minutes and an hour.

At Liberty Square, more bricks have been laid in the new courtyard area, especially around the center planter.

At first we thought this tree was withering away, but is in fact a Maple Tree, which is why its leaves are changing with the change in season.

A new top has found its way into Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar.

This gray top features Redd looking like a boss, warning others to beware. Just look at that side eye!

The ruffled sleeves gives the top a feminine touch. It retails at $34.99.

As we left the park, the monorail was up and running again, so we were able to get a decent view of Magic Kingdom’s front entrance construction. Roofing continues to be added to the new structure.

Excavation continues in the area where the new boat dock is planned to go.

Planters have taken shape at the construction site in front of the MagicBand touch points.

At the other, bigger construction site in front of the MagicBand touch points, the prep work is being performed to pour fresh concrete.

That’s the end of our day here at Magic Kingdom. Thanks for joining us! We hope you enjoyed following our day. Did you do anything special to celebrate Mickey’s birthday? Let us know in the comments!
