Transhield offers ArmorDillo covers to protect products in oil and gas applications. ArmorDillo is 100% waterproof yet it is breathable due to its engineered polyurethane coating to protect against the elements, allowing moisture out through the fabric without allowing moisture in. These custom fit covers are anti-condensation and help prevent corrosion, mold and mildew without scratching or damaging the product finishArmorDillo was originally designed as protective outdoor covers for everyday military and industrial applications.

ArmorDillo fabric is made of a breathable waterproof coating on a light weight polyester fabric. The fabric is laminated to a scrim re-enforced nonwoven fabric by hot-melt adhesive. The hot-melt adhesive incorporates Transhield’s patented vapor corrosion inhibitor (VCI) technology which provides protection from corrosion during shipping, storage or use of equipment; even in the most corrosive environments.

These light weight (1.25lbs/sqy), yet strong (700lbs tensile strength) covers were evaluated and approved by the US Navy and are currently being used by the surface ship fleet to help reduce corrosion of weapons systems and other topside equipment.
